Karibus History
-- FICTIONAL OPERATOR FOR OMSI 2 --
Karibus Transport was founded in Newcastle in October 2015, their first base and routes coming in as Gosfort Transport seeked new operators to run services on their behalf to help provide more consistent journeys in the area. Route 35 was operated from a small base near Newcastle Town Centre with second-hand Enviro400s. At the other end of the country, Karibus were attempting to gain entry into the London market, Karibus purchased a plot of land in Kennington and ran limited private services from the depot until April 2017 when the land was purchased for redevelopment ceasing all London operations.
Moving into 2016, Karibus were able to stretch their legs a bit more in England - setting up operations in Farthington and Cotterell - again with second-hand Enviro400s. The growth was further into the following years; first winning the contracts for the Bristol shuttle and express routes with new hybrid Wright buses, second the purchasing of Xplore Strathshire and Roadcar's operations and now in 2021 a new base in Rodwick Down in the very south of England.
