Fleet Update: June 2021
A brief summary of this month's fleet movements.
In order to comply with the new Ultra Low Emission Zone in Cotterell, the entire U18/X18 allocation has been permanently transferred away from the area. Buses ED1-4 and ES7/11 which only achieve Euro 5 emission standards are being replaced by 7 Enviro400's from Abellio London - although they have the same build year, these buses have had more mods applied with their former owner and now exceed Euro 6 emissions. Due to the pandemic, a further reduced service is in operation as well as the holiday schedule, thus only requiring 4 buses until September.
The refurbishment program of the Strathshire fleet has commenced now that spare buses from Cotterell are available to cover ( ED2-4 and long-term loan, VH11). 14 buses will be put into the new Karibus livery and receive further work where required. MS4, LS5-9 and VH10 were sent to Rodwick Down at the back end of May with only LS5/8 yet to return. LS1-3 and XS2/3 are next in line.
Gainsborough are set to receive their first hybrid vehicles in the coming months to replace MS1-3 and increase capacity on the network. VH10/11 have been earmarked for transfer but things may change. On this topic, we are currently speaking to different manufacturers to secure a deal on a mass fleet upgrade.
