Karibus to launch in Devon

Karibus have purchased a former garage in Ferncombe with plans to begin operations in-and-around the area in the coming weeks, with hopes of further developments in the coming months.

That garage is named Rodwick Down and has an official capacity of 50 buses - boasting engineering facilities for 3 buses, a bus wash and fuelling station. As our operational requirements will only need a start of 5 buses, this garage has become our official storage base and main refurbishment facility.

Towards the end of June, in partnership with Devon General, we will launch a heritage service to provide additional capacity across the 122 route. This will initially operate between Stoneley and Ferncombe every 30 minutes, and Paignton and Stoneley every 15 minutes.

The buses we plan to use for this special service will be our recently purchased, refurbished and restored Optare Spectras and ALX400s.

We hope to introduce an express service operating hourly between Totnes Station and Stoneley Harbour, and increasing the Park & Ride network in the area while providing additional permanent extra capacity on route 12 with a service between Middant and Ferncombe. Once our new buses arrive expect to see these routes launched!
