New Buses, New Livery
Today Karibus accepted delivery of the first of fourteen new Wright Streetdeck double-decker buses. They are brand new and have upgraded specifications to increase customer satisfaction. Karibus had initially placed an order for 11 new double-deckers from Alexander Dennis however this was later cancelled due to driving issues with the demonstration bus. A year later and the replacement order has started to arrive.
Coded WD for Wright Diesel, the 14 buses will be allocated across the network - allowing for withdrawal and storage of older fleet. 12 of the fleet will carry dual-doors and the remaining 2 single-door buses will be sent to Gainsborough garage.
The U18 and X18 at Cotterell will receive a full allocation with their buses moving to the Farthington base to replace the Scania buses operating there. The 100, 103, 104 and 590 will receive two buses and the remaining buses will form allocation of routes 12 and 122 from Rodwick Down once the contract commences next month.
These new grey buses feature comfortable high-back seats, air conditioning, USB charging and free WiFi. Start-stop technology is in place to further reduce emissions alongside its latest spec Euro 6 system.
It would be worth noting that this livery will only be a one off.
